The fact that ur having intrusive thoughts abt something means that that thing is the opposite of who you are. It’s absolutely against what you stand for and your ocd/mental illness is using it against you. The intrusive thought puts it there because it’s something that will make you feel bad about yourself. It’s engineered to make you feel like a bad person, but your recognition that those thoughts are bad proves the opposite. You are a good person.

Do we have to pronounce the ® symbol too
the reason they don’t want you to use photoshopping as a verb is because if were to become so widely used that it were oficially known as a verb, they would lose all brand name copyright, essentially costing them millions in name copyright. i, personally, would love to see this happen so please use photoshop as a verb as much as you can
i don’t know how to express this properly but this whole symbolism in writing discourse is kind of expected honestly and it’s one of my frustrations as both a reader and an aspiring writing. things like sci fi, fantasy, horror, etc all used to be used as metaphors for things, like say, lovecraft’s monsters all expressing his fear of the Other or the unknown, but fantasy no longer means that. it’s all about technicality and worldbuilding and making things realistic…which btw i don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. it’s just that trying to find a scientific explanation for a vampire or something has always personally annoyed me. the POINT of fantasy was always to use symbolism to convey a feeling, a fear, an observation about society, and the fact that i now see very little of this in literature is reflective of the mentality that everyone’s english teacher is just pretentious and making shit up. of course you’re allowed to write things without meaning and there are instances of people reading too deeply into metaphors, but the idea that symbolism is all fake and stupid is ridiculous. literature has always been used to convey deeper meaning and resonate with people on a level that just saying the same thing wouldn’t achieve. that’s what’s always made it so powerful.
